Compact %

How much the material will compact as a percentage. The base for paving is compacted. A figure of 25% is often mentioned on the internet, although this will depend on the material used. Sand is not usually compacted.

Depth

The depth of the area for the base or sand. For the base this is the depth after the base has been compacted.
